A former America’s Got Talent contestant just found out the hard way that drinking and driving don’t mix. Jourdan Blue, who AGT fans will remember from Season 20, has been arrested for driving while intoxicated. We assume he’s probably dealing with the worst hangover imaginable right about now.
Jourdan Blue was arrested on Saturday
TMZ got the scoop on Jourdan’s unfortunate run-in with the law. According to arrest records, he was rolling around in Louisiana on Saturday, March 21, when a member of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Department stopped him. Allegedly, Jourdan was driving with an open container and had a suspended license.
After speaking with Jourdan, the cops hauled him off to jail, snapped a mugshot, and charged him with DWI. They also hit him with charges for careless operation, in addition to the suspended license and open container.
If you watched AGT Season 20, you’ll remember Jourdan from his third-place finish. Howie Mandel gave him the Golden Buzzer, and Jourdan captivated the audience with his emotional tale of perseverance. As a teen, he overcame homelessness, addiction, and a near-fatal drug overdose.
On the show, Jourdan said it was his grandfather who helped steer him to a better path in life. Once he discovered his powerful singing voice, he turned to street performances in New Orleans as a way to break through. He’d hook a speaker up to a car battery and start singing. Those videos still go viral on TikTok.
Jourdan hasn’t publicly commented on his DWI arrest, but he seems to be back in the streets and in good spirits. Just days after the arrest, he was back to posting videos of his car-powered street performances. He just needs to keep the car parked when he’s been drinking.
