Violence of any kind is not something Chappell Roan prescribes to. The singer/songwriter is firing back at allegations of aggressive behavior surrounding her. A representative for Chappell states that she has “zero tolerance” for any violence directed at fans.
This all stems from a reported incident involving the singer, footballer Jorginho, and his daughter. On Saturday, the Brazilian claimed that Chappell sent a security guard to accuse his daughter of disrespecting and harassing her. Both Chapell’s and Jorginho’s family happened to be in the same São Paulo hotel at the time. It’s alleged that Chappell’s security was attempting to intimidate the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder’s 11-year-old girl.
Chappell Roan isn’t supporting “aggressive behavior” towards fans
There are two sides to every story. Chappell’s version of events is very different from what Jorginho claims occurred. In a statement to the Daily Mail, a rep for The Giver singer said that she does not accept “any kind of aggressive behavior towards her or her fans.”
While Jorginho didn’t name the child in question, he appeared to be referring to Ada Law, who is 11 and whom his wife, Catherine Harding, had with her ex, Jude Law. On her Instagram story this past weekend, Chappell says that the security allegedly involved with the mother and child wasn’t anyone employed by her. She denies asking anyone to confront the girl or anyone at the hotel.
Chappell’s Instagram story came amid the jokes being aimed at her following the allegations. She was in São Paulo for her Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things Tour. Jorginho’s club team, Flamengo, was in São Paulo this past weekend for a league match against Corinthians.
In February, Chappell made headlines following her shocking Grammy outfit. This drew widespread criticism from some people, including political commentator Megyn Kelly. Chappell believes the allegations that she had a security person try to intimidate some fans is a stretch. She says that assumption is unfair.
