TMZ exclusively reported the lawsuit filing against Cyndi Lauper’s son. In the lawsuit, the woman claims Declyn “Dex” Lauper invited her over and sent her money for private car transportation — but when she arrived, she alleges he acted “agitated.” Moreover, the two allegedly argued after she refused to get intimate. The woman claims she tried to leave, but Dex took her phone and threatened to break it if she did not comply.
Additionally, this lawsuit describes an alleged physical encounter in the bedroom, with TMZ reporting graphic details of the alleged assault, while noting that the woman alleges Dex insulted her and told her no one would believe her if she spoke about what happened. The outlet highlighted that Dex is not a defendant in the lawsuit for the alleged assault, and instead, the woman is suing Lauper’s husband, David Thornton.
Per TMZ, the woman claims Thornton enabled the alleged assault because he leased the penthouse where the incident allegedly happened and accuses him of knowing “of his son’s violent and sexually abusive propensities.” Moreover, the plaintiff stresses earlier public accusations involving Dex. TMZ reported she references claims from 2018 by Dex’s ex, “Love & Hip Hop: New York” star Brittney Taylor, who alleged he acted physically and verbally abusive during their relationship.
According to the lawsuit, Thornton allegedly knew about those allegations and still failed to supervise or restrict his son’s access to the apartment. Now, the plaintiff seeks damages and says she suffered injuries and emotional distress as a result of the alleged incident with Cyndi Lauper’s son.
