Joy Behar got into a war of words with a Republican co-host on The View on Wednesday over the military.
The true-blue liberal and Donald Trump critic go into it with Abby Huntsman over the ongoing war with Iran. Joy was accused by the former Fox News reporter of being anti-military. Then, Joy brought up her family history to defend her stance.

In today’s episode, Abby joked about Trump’s ongoing military strike strategy. The episode included a quote in which the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, said the U.S. was “keeping our hand on the throttle,” a “hard” but “necessary” move.
Abby asked the audience if “anybody else feel[s] like we’re in an episode of The Apprentice.” As many will remember, The Apprentice was Trump’s business competition series, which he hosted from 2004 to 2015.
“My head spins everyday,” she added in her criticism. “I’m not sure what’s going to happen next. It’s like, ‘I’ve got this big beautiful deal. I’m not going to tell you, but if you tune into next week’s episode, I might share a tidbit.’ I don’t want to take away from what our men and women have been doing over there because what they’ve accomplished is incredible, and if we can deter Iran at all…”
Joy interjected, “What have they accomplished over there?” referring to the military. She then added “Explain it to me.”
“I think any time we can deter Iran, whether it’s for another year, whether it’s for ten years, I think that’s a win for this country,” the Republican host responded.
Then, Joy said President Obama “had a deal” with Iran, then Trump later “threw it up.” “What’s the gift? Besides herpes?” the comedian joked.
In response, Abby said, “I think it’s really easy to sit here and say, ‘What has our military accomplished?’”
“It’s because of our military that we’re able to sit here and have these conversations and do a show like this,” she added.
Joy then interjected. “Don’t make it sound like I’m against the military. I’m not. All my uncles, my father, they all fought,” she revealed. “So don’t make it sound like that. I’m talking about this particular, as he calls it, ‘excursion,’ into Iran. What have they accomplished so far?”
