Once a vocal Donald Trump supporter, Nick Fuentes has shocked followers by expressing nostalgia for former President Barack Obama during a recent livestream. Fuentes has grown increasingly critical of Trump lately, and his latest comments further shift his political stance.

During a livestream, a viewer sent Nick Fuentes $20 with a message captioned: “Wya Obama sympathizer. He lies like Trump. Also kill all minorities.” Fuentes responded: “I’m liking Obama now. I miss Obama. I miss the adults in the room. Get this orange clown outta here.”
The comments are a dramatic shift for the Trump-Fuentes dynamic. Once a staunch Trump ally, Fuentes has increasingly urged his followers to abandon the president following the recent military actions against Iran conducted in coordination with Israel. He has even suggested that followers vote for Democrats.
Moreover, the reversal is striking given Fuentes’ history of attacking Barack Obama. During a 2024 podcast episode, he said, “I really don’t like the Obamas. I especially don’t like Michelle. Part of what’s wrong with black people in America is that chip on their shoulder, no humility… And they hate you, you can tell they hate this country (via Yahoo News).”
The YouTuber’s criticisms of Donald Trump were known before the 2024 election, when he claimed the campaign had been “hijacked by the same consultants, lobbyists, and donors that he defeated in 2016.” Trump previously distanced himself from Fuentes after hosting him and Kanye West at Mar-a-Lago in November 2022.
Additionally, Fuentes’ audience remains substantial, averaging 500,000 to 1 million views per episode. According to The New York Times, current and former Trump administration members reportedly avoid engaging with him “out of fear.”
Last month, Fuentes directed additional criticism at the administration, stating: “What does this administration do, other than cover up the Epstein files, embezzle money through government contracts, and bring us to war for Israel. This administration needs to be shut down immediately. Do not vote in the midterms, and if you do, vote for Democrats, f*** this (via The Daily Beast).”
