SLOMW’s Zac Affleck Blames Production for Whitney Leavitt Drama

Zac Affleck of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives fired back at the criticism online for his beef with co-star Whitney Leavitt. The reality star claimed that production created many of the storylines for SLOMW Season 4 to maximize drama. That’s par for the course for reality television.

Zac Affleck said it “was the storyline” on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

Zac isn’t the first reality star to blame storylines and edits for drama among cast members. He went on TikTok Live to share some thoughts on the latest season.

“The whole narrative of Whitney letting us stay over at her house, it’s just not true,” Zac admitted in his live. “It’s not a big deal, though, that wasn’t her fault. That was the storyline.”

He revealed that he and his wife, Jen Affleck, have had their own home the whole time they were in Los Angeles so that Jen could compete alongside Whitney on Dancing with the Stars Season 34.

And DWTS is where most of this started. Jen and Whitney’s friendship imploded during their time on the dancing competition show. This isn’t surprising, as Witney has always been somewhat of a villain of the MomTok group and controversy followed her on DWTS.

Eventually, Zac confronted Whitney in Jen’s place during the Season 4 finale of SLOMW. However, Zac said he was asked to do that on the day by “someone other than Jen.” He admits that he could have controlled what he said during their confrontation.

Zac’s still not a Whitney fan, but he does understand why her hubby, Connor Leavitt, was mad at him for that encounter. He added that there were “bigger things going on with the group,” seemingly referring to Jordan Ngatikaura’s contentious divorce and the pause in production for SLOMW Season 5.

“This is just all part of reality TV,” Zac said. “I also think part of having social media is just speak your truth. Some people are gonna hate you, some people are gonna like you. And I’m okay with that.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
