Picking up girls on social media is not Shaquille O’Neal’s style. The former NBA superstar addressed the speculation that he had slipped into Sabrina Carpenter’s DMs to send her some “horny” messages.
Rumor has it, the NBA analyst known for his aggressive play on the court had no problem being completely upfront with the Espresso singer. His flirtatious behavior in the past had some believing that messages came from the REAL four-time NBA champion.
As he usually does, Shaq discussed those rumors head on in his latest podcast.
Shaq denies sliding into the singer’s DMs
Not known as a high percentage shooter as a player, Shaq apparently doesn’t take risky shots in real life either. At least not towards Sabrina. On an episode of The Big Podcast, which he co-hosts with Jim Jones, Shaq laughed at the allegation that he was coming onto Sabrina. The 15-time NBA All-Star assured women that he has “way more game than that.”
Shaq was previously married to Shaunie Nelson from 2002 to 2011. He and the Basketball Wives alum, known as Shaunie Henderson on that show, have four children. Shaq was stepfather to Shaunie’s other two kids for a while, who she had from a previous relationship.
While he’s reportedly single, a lot of Shaq’s publicity in recent times has been about his alleged womanizing. In January, he drew backlash for his flirty nature during an interview with a female reporter. The former LSU star called her a “young, gorgeous, African American news anchor.”
Meanwhile, in September, word came out that Shaq was reportedly seeing OnlyFans star Sophie Rain. She had posted photos of the two during her 21st birthday bash in Las Vegas. The DJ at the party shut down the rumors saying the 54-year-old Shaq doesn’t date that young.
In 2014, Shaq dated model Laticia Rolle, though they apparently broke up in 2018. Sabrina, meanwhile, is reportedly single after splitting up with actor Barry Keoghan in 2024.
