Jason Duggar is not keeping quiet about his brother Joseph Duggar’s arrest for alleged child molestation. He and his wife, Maddie Grace Duggar, shared their thoughts on social media. They slammed their brother for his vile behavior and condemned his actions as evil.
Joseph Duggar is accused of molesting a nine-year-old girl
News about Joseph’s arrest hit the news last week. Officials charged him with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old.
Jason and Maddie took to Instagram to release a joint statement condemning their sibling. In the statement, The couple said they spent the week “completely shocked, confused, and grieved to list a few emotions.”
“We are disgusted to hear the news about my brother. However, this isn’t about how it’s impacted our lives,” they wrote.
“Our hearts are burdened because a child’s life has been turned upside down due to the evil actions of someone who should have never hurt the vulnerable,” Jason and Maddie continued. “This is something unthinkable.”
They said what happened angered them and prayed that “God’s righteous hand and the court system will serve justice in the situation as described.”
“To fathom that someone would abuse their authority to harass the innocent is vile,” the statement continued. Jason and Maddi continue to pray for the victim and for Joseph’s children, who are losing their father and spiritual leader.
The couple ended the statement by saying, “We stand with innocent children. Always.”
Joseph is heading to trial in Florida. If convicted, he could potentially serve a life sentence.
