Charlie Davis’ journey on Survivor 50 ended with a blindside. The Season 46 star felt confident he had the votes to snuff Rizo Velovic’s torch in the Wednesday, March 25 episode, but Tribal Council did not go as planned. Shortly before the vote, Dee Valladares and Kamilla Karthigesu decided to flip on the original plan and send Charlie on a one-way trip to Ponderosa. The fallen castaway opened up about his shocking exit in a recent interview, revealing that a pregame alliance led to his downfall.
Charlie claims Dee Valladares and Rizo Velovic made a pregame alliance
In a March 26 interview with Page Six, Charlie revealed that Dee’s decision to save Rizo may have been preordained. He revealed to the outlet that the two players had a conversation before filming began.
“Dee had a FaceTime before the season with Rizo,” he shared. “I think that probably played into it too, because If I were Dee, I’d be like, ‘Oh wow. I have this like pre-game relationship with Rizo, and no one else has that because no one else would have any way of like getting in touch with him or knowing he was on 50,’”
There has been considerable talk about Survivor 50 pregaming in exit interviews. Eliminated castaways Jenna Lewis-Dougherty and Savannah Louie both noted that pre-existing relationships had an impact on the game.
“They had all these connections,” Jenna told Page Six in February. “I do know for a fact all of them were chatting [before the show].”
Savannah shared a similar complaint in her exit interview with Page Six.
“I’m not saying everybody here hopped on a Zoom call and formulated a plan,” she said. “But you do have pre-existing relationships and it can make it really hard as someone who comes into the game without any of that.”
Survivor 50 continues on CBS every Wednesday at 8/7c. It is available to stream on Paramount+.
