Notably, the 28-year-old, who strikingly resembles the Terminator star, has frequently offered his followers a glimpse at his workout routine.
Joseph Baena wins his first bodybuilding competition
Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s son, Joseph Baena, revealed on Instagram that he secured three gold medals and one silver at the NPC Natural Colorado State Competition. He also shared photos of himself flexing his impressive physique.
“Mission Accomplished!” He captioned the post. The Gunner actor also listed the categories he won under:
- Men’s Open Bodybuilding Heavy Weight Class – 1st (Gold)
- Men’s Classic Physique True Novice – 1st (Gold)
- Men’s Classic Physique Novice – 1st (Gold)
- Men’s Classic Physique Open Class C – 2nd (Silver)
Schwarzenegger was instrumental in Baena’s win. The latter shared a post five days ago, showing the former California governor, who famously won five Mr. Universe and seven Mr. Olympia titles and aided Baena’s training by giving him a book: The Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, overseeing his workout, and encouraging him. “You have to shock the muscles!” the Bully High star captioned the post. This is a reference to the Predator actor’s quote from an interview where he discussed his muscle growth.
Baena has come a long way when it comes to working on his physique and health. He once revealed he was chubby during his high school years, because of which he didn’t make it into the basketball and soccer teams.
“Swim didn’t have tryouts thankfully and completely changed my life forever,” he added. “That was my introduction to Fitness and training.” Baena then stressed that even though each person started their fitness journeys differently, doing so was “most important.”
Schwarzenegger’s son earlier shared in an interview with PEOPLE that his overweight appearance during his elementary and high school years made him the target of bullying among his “closest friends.” He stressed that the bullying was a “big struggle” in his pursuit of finding himself and establishing his ambition to work on his weight and physique.
