Former Pima County Sheriff Calls Nancy Guthrie Crime Scene ‘Corrupted’

The current Pima County Sheriff is taking some heat from one of his predecessors. Chris Nanos has been heading up the investigation since Nancy Guthrie went missing on February 1. He and his team of investigators have not received much praise for their work since then.

Richard Carmona knows what it’s like to be in Chris’ shoes to a certain extent, working his way up to Deputy Sheriff in Pima County decades ago. He believes Chris has “corrupted,” this investigation. As such, he is calling for swift action against Chris for the alleged misstep.

Richard may understand the pressure Chris is under, but he’s not showing him any sympathy. The former Surgeon General under former President George W. Bush told Brian Entin Investigates that once a scene is corrupted, “that’s the end of it.” He calls Chris’s alleged corruption a “fundamental error.”

A huge mistake Chris may have made recently has surfaced. Footage recently surfaced that a pizza delivery vehicle was driving across the front lawn during an active investigation. Richard says defense attorneys could use that as proof that any evidence collected at the scene where Nancy may have been taken. While he didn’t say it directly, Richard seems to be implying that Chris should resign from this investigation. “You cannot lead without trust,” declared Richard. He believes Chris has broken public trust.

Many times, throughout the investigation, Chris and his team have come under fire. A couple of weeks ago, he was blasted for making what was deemed a critical error during a statement. He said that he believed that he might know the alleged abductor could strike again. Experts say that it created unnecessary fear in the public. Chris declined to provide any details about his theory, citing, as he put it, the “integrity of the investigation.”

There are thousands of apparent leads in Nancy’s investigation, but no arrests.
