Reason for Tiger Woods Not Hiring a Driver Before DUI Arrest Revealed

Tiger Woods refuses to hire a driver due to privacy concerns, despite his long history of driving offenses, according to a new report.

The golfing legend was arrested on Friday near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida, for driving under the influence (DUI). As shown in viral photos from the scene, Tiger’s car was involved in a rollover crash, and he refused to take a drug test during questioning.

Since 2009, the sports prodigy has been involved in four automobile accidents.

According to a report by People, Tiger continues to drive out of concern for his privacy. Specifically, he worries about the implications of employing a personal driver.

The golfer “doesn’t want anyone to watch over him or know what he is doing,” a source told the publication. Furthermore, he is said to be deeply guarded and shy, likely influenced by several public scandals in recent years.

“He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home with his kids, or hitting balls, or playing video games,” the source continued.

In 2009, an infidelity scandal involving Tiger permanently altered his heroic status in the public eye. Several leaked text messages and voicemails published by the press showed the athlete being unfaithful to his then-wife, Swedish model Elin Nordegren.

“He despises public scrutiny,” the insider concluded.

Additionally, Tiger isn’t overly concerned about his driving abilities, despite his history of accidents. “He thinks he is fine to drive,” the source further explained.

In 2009, amid his infidelity scandal, Tiger crashed his car into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his neighbor’s home. However, no further legal action was taken.

In 2017, he had his first DUI arrest and charge after he was spotted asleep at the wheel. Drug testing later revealed he tested positive for alcohol as well as Vicodin, creating a potent combination. Tiger received a year of probation, a $250 fine, and 50 hours of community service.

In 2021, he was involved in his first rollover crash in Los Angeles County. While no charges were filed, the athlete faced he sustained leg injuries and required surgery.
