More details are trickling in following the latest arrest of Tiger Woods. The golfer, who has a history of dangerous driving, was involved in another incident in Jupiter Island, Florida, last Friday. The five-time Masters champion rolled his car.
He was arrested for DUI in the incident, spending a short time behind bars at the Martin County Jail. Tiger got out on bail late on Friday evening. Now, news about the discoveries the police made during his arrest is emerging.
Tiger Woods had two hydrocodone pills according to police
The latest reports in this matter could tarnish Tiger’s public image even more. TMZ reports that the World Golf Hall of Famer had two loose hydrocodone pills in his pocket at the time police detained him. The father of two claims that his cell phone and radio distracted him just before he crashed.
The arrest affidavit in this matter was obtained by TMZ. It details Tiger’s stint behind bars. Per the report, Tiger was sweating profusely after the accident, despite sitting at the back of his vehicle with the air conditioner running. A deputy statement says the golfer was “lethargic and slow,” while he displayed “severe signs of impairment.”
When asked to remove his sunglasses, the father of two allegedly had bloodshot eyes with his pupils “extremely dilated.” Tiger acknowledged that he takes a few prescription medications. At the time of the crash, reports suggest Tiger was travelling from his Florida home, which was about five minutes from the incident site.
Tiger took heat for not hiring a driver before the accident. He also refused to take a drug test during questioning. He is now facing two misdemeanor charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit a lawful test.
Hydrocodone is an opioid drug used to treat severe pain. Tiger underwent surgery on his Achilles and his lumbar region last year. He missed over a year of action because of his injuries. He was previously arrested for DUI in 2017.
