Journalist Don Lemon recently criticized the leadership skills of President Donald Trump, claiming that he would make a better President for the country than Trump. In January, Lemon was charged with a federal civil rights crime by the Trump administration in relation to an anti-immigration protest at a Minnesota church. Later, in February, Lemon put in a plea of not guilty.
Don Lemon on possibility of becoming President
Former CNN journalist Don Lemon recently sat down on the Pod Save America podcast and shared that he believes that he would be a better president than Donald Trump.
Lemon spoke about a potential political career and stated that he “could be president of the United States.” He asserted that he does envision the possibility and said, “It could happen if the opportunity presented itself, the right opportunity presented itself.” Lemon added, “Look, if I wanted to, I know people are going to think I’m crazy. This is going to be the headline, and people are going to laugh about it. I think I could be President of the United States.” He stated that he doesn’t “have an aspiration to become president, but I do think that I could run this country a lot better than Donald Trump.”
However, Lemon also conveyed that he has no plans to run in the presidential elections at this time. He said, “Am I at that point now? No. And I know people are going to say Don Lemon is crazy.”
As per The Hill, following Lemon’s arrest in February, Trump was asked about it by reporters on Air Force One and described it as the “best thing that could have happened” to Lemon. Moreover, the US President called Lemon a “sleazebag” who had no viewers across the internet and had failed to become a successful host.
