He was taken into custody at the Martin County jail and was later bailed out by his friend. As the news spread, the gold legend recently released a statement revealing his plans. He mentioned that he would take a career break to seek treatment.

Tiger Woods revealed that he would seek treatment after his DUI arrest and car crash. He released his statement on X [formerly Twitter] on March 31. The athlete started by acknowledging the “seriousness of the situation” he has gotten into. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery,” he wrote.
The 50-year-old insisted on using the break to work on his health. “I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally,” he added. At the end of the statement, Woods asked his fans to understand his situation and to respect the “privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
On March 27, the professional golfer’s Land Rover rolled over while he reportedly overtook a truck. Although no one was injured, the athlete was taken into custody to check if he was under the influence. While his breathalyzer test came back negative, he allegedly refused to take a urine test.
Moreover, Martin County Sheriff John M. Budensiek revealed Woods’ condition during a press conference on Friday. He said that the sports person was “lethargic on scene because of what he was intoxicated on.”
Meanwhile, a report claimed that Woods’ arrest has also put him in a tough spot with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump. The latter reportedly gave him a choice if he wanted a stable relationship.
