Becky G is opening up about one of the most difficult chapters of her life after ending her engagement. The singer recently reflected on the emotional fallout following cheating allegations involving her fiancé, Sebastian Lletget, and how she handled the intense public attention that followed.
Although much of the situation played out in headlines, she says the real story unfolded privately. Now, she’s sharing how that experience reshaped her sense of self and priorities.

Speaking candidly on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Becky G shared that the cheating allegations surrounding Sebastian Lletget in 2023 marked a turning point in her life. However, it was not in the way many assumed.
At the time, a woman publicly alleged on Instagram that Lletget had been unfaithful. While he later issued a statement apologizing and expressing a desire to rebuild trust, Becky G says the situation was far more complex behind closed doors.
The 29-year-old singer said a lot of conversations took place privately with “this person who I love and care for deeply,” adding that she also felt “betrayed.” Addressing speculation that she ignored the situation, she pushed back on that narrative. “Like, no. I called off my engagement. I took off my ring,” she revealed.
According to Becky, the experience forced her to confront deeper patterns in her own life. She described her “ground zero” as a tendency toward “people pleasing” and “self-sacrifice.” “This was an opportunity to unlock and go inward and make this about me,” she explained.
She also spoke about how betrayal affected her sense of trust not just in her partner, but in herself. “It doesn’t just make you not trust the other person. You don’t trust yourself anymore,” she said. That realization, she added, became a catalyst for change. “This isn’t even about them. This is about me.”
Despite the pain, Becky G says she made a conscious decision to grow from the experience. She described a mental “shift” that helped her move away from feeling like a victim. “Post-traumatic growth is a choice,” she said.
Interestingly, she confirmed that she and Lletget are still together today, though reconciliation came after significant emotional work. When asked about the future, she remained optimistic, even joking that she’d be open to another proposal.
