Reality TV usually leans into every fight, but as it turns out, what happens in Cabo sometimes stays in Cabo (at least for the past 20 years). Laguna Beach creator Liz Gateley shared that a fight between Jessica Smith and Dieter Schmitz while in Cabo never saw the light of day.

“In Cabo, Dieter and Jessica had a fight, and Dieter asked us not to air it,” Liz told US Weekly. “It comes up in the special.” Another exciting reason to catch the upcoming Laguna Beach reunion premiering on April 10.
“When you’re producing a show like this, it’s all about trust,” Liz explained. “And Dieter didn’t feel like it was his best self, and we wanted to honor that.” According to Liz, it was the only time any of the cast asked them not to air a specific scene.
Hilariously, the host of the reunion asked Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari if they knew that that was a possibility, and Liz shared that the former couple laughed and said, “No, we didn’t know we could ask them not to air things.”
Laguna Beach fans will remember several explosive fights between Stephen and his then-girlfriend, Kristin, in Cabo. Stephen might regret his actions from before, but he isn’t hiding from his past. “That wasn’t one of my best moments, but I think at the end of the day, that’s not who we are,” he said.
Kirstin says that she doesn’t hold any grudges about what went down all those years ago. The cast has already made amends for the most part over the years, but the special does tease conversations about past feuds that fans haven’t seen before.
“I don’t regret anything,” Kristin shared. “Of course, there’s moments I’m not super proud of, but they’ve led me to where I am today.”
