Donald Trump makes fun of Joe Biden in front of children
During the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 6, President Donald Trump sat with a group of young children who were busy with their drawings. As he signed their artwork, the president decided to take a swipe at his predecessor.
“I could sign autographs for you guys. And then tonight, you could sell them for $25,000 on eBay,” Trump told the children. Their excitement grew instantly, with several asking, “Can you sign mine?”
After looking over their artwork, he picked one drawing and joked, “I’m going to sign this, that way I’ll say I drew it.” Then Donald Trump brought up Joe Biden’s use of an autopen. It is a machine that reproduces signatures. While signing, Trump revisited claims he has made before.
“He’d have an autopen follow him… He didn’t sign, he was incapable of signing his name, so they’d follow him around with a big machine. Do you know what it was called?” Trump asked. He answered himself, saying, “An autopen and he’d have the autopen sign for him.” The president continued describing the process. “He’d take the paper, hand it to his guys, sign it with an autopen, and give it back. That’s not too good, right?”
Notably, those allegations have not been verified. However, Trump has repeated them multiple times. During a September 2025 joint press conference with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, he said, “Joe Biden wasn’t giving those orders. The autopen was illegal. It was illegally used. He never gave the orders” (via People). Trump later removed Biden’s photo from the White House’s Presidential Walk of Fame, replacing it with a photo of an autopen. Meanwhile, Biden defended the use of autopens earlier.
