Fans react to Jon Bernthal’s Punisher look in One Last Kill special first look

On April 7, Marvel Entertainment dropped a mid-season trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again Season 2”. Towards the end of the trailer, a short clip from “The Punisher: One Last Kill” gave fans the first glimpse at the upcoming special. It showed Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle wearing his usual black outfit, featuring a white skull graphic up top. He could be seen drawing a firearm, a subtle hint at the action that fans can look forward to.

Fans love the first look and expressed the same online. A X user, @RolandKickFlix, commented, “Yeah this is about to be brutal The Punisher back in full force.” Another with the username, @FCBRozy, wrote, “Yeah this one’s about to go hard.” @cjwillprosper remarked, “Wow we are so back,” and @0xBiggs commented, “Frank Castle out with a bang!!! I’ll be there.” Additionally, @SwapnilPranta commented, “Punisher is going to be so epic!!”

Bernthal co-wrote it with director Reinaldo Marcus Green. In a conversation with Collider, “The Walking Dead” star revealed how he ended up co-writing the hour-long special. He said, I’ve said it a million times: Frank is in my bones, is in my heart. I care about him.”

He added, “In discussing what this thing could be and this sort of version of Frank that I really felt that the audience was hungry for, that the military community was hungry for it, the first responder community, the comic book fans, they were really hungry for it. I presented that version to them, and they encouraged me. They encouraged me to keep coming to the table.” The special will hit Disney+ on May 12.
