Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary Gets Second Shoutout From Artemis II Crew

The cosmos has always had a way of inspiring, and now, it’s influencing the silver screen. So much so that the NASA Artemis II crew has publicly praised Ryan Gosling‘s “Project Hail Mary” for the second time. Their thrilling endorsement is the latest boost for Gosling’s recent cinematic venture that has been creating a huge stir worldwide.

Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary receives another nod from Artemis II crew

The Artemis II crew is giving Ryan Gosling’s “Project Hail Mary” movie a double thumbs-up from space. However, this isn’t the first time the NASA crew has praised Gosling’s sci-fi thriller, hinting at a stellar performance from the actor.

After watching the film before their lunar journey, Mission Control playfully referenced it by quoting “Amaze! Amaze! Amaze!” – in response to Commander Reid Wiseman’s description of the Moon.

The notable event occurred during NASA’s official broadcast of the Artemis II space voyage. It coincided with the lunar flyby that took the crew farther from Earth than any human had previously been. Their achievement of a planned distance of 252,760 miles will enable them to surpass the Apollo 13 mission’s 1970 record of 248,655 miles.

“We just realized we have Earth at window four and the Moon at window three, and it gives you the best idea of scale we have had yet,” Wiseman said. “The Moon is about three to four times the size of the Earth, and it is almost full, and the Earth is just a small crescent out there. It’s magnificent – I got a picture of it with the wide lens. Such a majestic view out here.”

Responding to the record-breaking achievement, Mission Control said, “Amaze! Amaze! Amaze! Thank you, Reid.”

Fans of Andy Weir’s “Project Hail Mary”, or the movie adaptation starring Ryan Gosling, will recognize the quote. It’s a nod to Rocky, the lovable Eridian alien who helps Gosling’s Ryland Grace on a mission to save humanity. Rocky’s unique way of expressing excitement is now echoed by Mission Control.
