Olandria Carthen stunned at the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2026 in a strapless Area denim dress that looked like a reimagination of ripped jeans. Her striking, avant-garde ensemble for the star-studded event was the perfect blend of couture drama and deconstructed edge. The model’s appearance came hot on the heels of the announcement of her partnership with Mattel, marking her entry into the Barbie world.

On April 7, Olandria Carthen stepped out on the pink carpet at Nya Studios West, Los Angeles, wearing a strapless denim dress from Area’s Spring/Summer collection. Rendered in light-wash denim fabric, the floor-length, body-con, strapless gown featured strategic distressing and shredded cut-outs near the hem. Its sculptural, asymmetrical neckline appeared to be the waistband of a pair of jeans flipped vertically to create a sharp architectural wing over one shoulder.
Contrasting the denim’s rough texture, sleek, black satin lining spilt over the neckline. The same lining formed an oversized bow at the back. Its loose end transformed into a dramatic, long train trailing behind her on the pink carpet. This combination of the streetwear-style ripped denim with high-glamour formal elements made the dress perfect for the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards.
Carthen added a little more edge to her look with a black belt choker decorating her slender neck. Further, she accessorised with statement rings and diamond stud earrings. Both her pointed-toe pumps and her black manicure matched her choker and the black lining of her dress. This marked yet another collaboration between the model and the stylist duo, Matthew and Reginald Reisman.
The Love Island USA breakout star wore her black hair in a pixie hairstyle with micro-bangs. Meanwhile, her makeup featured a soft smoky eye and a neutral lip. Dove Cameron, Julia Fox, Natasha Lyonne, James Franco, Mindy Kaling, Coco Jones, and Becky G also attended the event. Pamela Anderson, Olivia Wilde, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Melissa McCarthy were the presenters.
