Blake Lively’s public image is taking a hit. At least that how one public relations expert interprets how outsiders view her during her sexual harassment allegations against Justin Baldoni. This week, a judge dismissed 10 of the 13 claims Blake made in a highly publicized matter since the two starred opposite each other in It Ends with Us.
PR expert Molly McPherson doesn’t believe her publicists are doing much to help her image. Molly says that the dismissals in court this week prove to her that “PR fixers are dead,” at least in the Hollywood world.
PR expert Molly McPherson gave her take on Blake Lively’s legal loss
Blake may have lost more than just a handful of lawsuits this week. According to Molly, the actress’s publicists are doing a terrible job of winning over the public. “There is no one in Blake Lively’s corner who’s looking out for Blake Lively,” declared Molly. She adds that for her money, no one on her PR team is looking out into the public and saying, “How is the public interpreting all of this?”
After many of her claims were dismissed, numerous responses afterwards were posted to Blake’s Instagram story. For Molly, this was a mistake because those only last 24 hours. She believes Blake’s team is only managing her base, rather than the middle. While not all the allegations against Justin have been dropped, Molly says the court of public opinion won’t wait for those rulings.
Despite being the one making the claims of wrongdoing, Blake has gotten plenty of hate since her allegations. Jameela Jamil went off on Blake in January, calling her a “suicide bomber,” in a bizarre rant.
While Molly acknowledges Blake might win her upcoming case against Justin. That said she worries that her PR team will cause her to lose the crowd. For Molly, this is who ultimately determines your reputation. Blake’s civil trial begins on May 18.
