Blake Lively shares three daughters — James, 11, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6 — and a 3-year-old son, Olin, with husband Ryan Reynolds. Recently, in her Instagram Story, the “Gossip Girl” alum shared that the sole reason she decided to narrate the “Secrets of the Penguins” was her kids. She said, “I narrated this for my kids. Both in how I told the story. And why.”
According to E! News, the “Another Simple Favor” star also said that the series “came at a time that my heart needed it most.” She added, “My kids love to fall asleep to nature shows. Nothing more comforting and divine than these sweet babies. This series holds such a special place in my heart, and my home.”
Elsewhere, Lively even heaped praise on the team behind the “Secrets of the Penguins.” She said, “So honored to have been a part of this beautiful story. Congratulations to the incredible team who worked so hard and with such care. Braving extreme conditions to capture these awe inspiring creatures in never before seen moments on film.”
The show follows award-winning Nat Geo Explorer Bertie Gregory on a two-year, worldwide adventure to capture how penguins behave in intense environments, including the Galapagos, South Africa, Namibia, Antarctica, and South Georgia. It has received nominations in three Emmy categories: Outstanding Nature Documentary, Outstanding Cinematography: Documentary and Outstanding Sound: Documentary.
Earlier this month, Lively shared a photo on her Instagram Story showing how her kids pulled a prank on their parents for April Fool’s Day. The image captured a toilet seat lid covered in pink marks, while the seat itself was wrapped in plastic.
