Ivanka Trump is sharing a harrowing experience from her father’s 2024 Presidential campaign. Donald Trump, was slightly wounded in the ear in Butler Township, Pennsylvania. His daughter was with her three kids at the time.
Ivanka says that she got word of this on TV, adding that it was almost in real time for her. One of Donald’s former advisers recalls what was going through her mind at this time. Interestingly, she had a hunch about how this situation would turn out.
President Trump’s daughter speaks of the “commotion”
The moments after Trump’s shooting in Pennsylvania were surely tense and uneasy for his family. His second child, however, had a sense of calmness in the aftermath of it all. “There was a lot of commotion,” Ivanka recalled on The Diary of a CEO podcast. She was in Bedminster, New Jersey, when the news broke in 2024. “My first reaction was to turn them (the children) away,” Ivanka admitted. The televisions where she was were on, and there was apparently plenty of chatter about what transpired.
As painful as it might have been to view the incident in real time, Ivanka says she didn’t think it was the end for her father. “I just knew it wasn’t his time,” she added. Ivanka says the moment in real time told her that her father was going to survive.
While Donald survived and went on to win a second term as President, he did suffer some damage in the shooting. In July, Dr. Terry Dubrow said that he would need a complex surgery to repair the harm done to his right ear.
Ivanka says that she saw him in Bedminster after returning from the hospital. She recalls feeling incredibly lucky that everything turned out ok. Ivanka says the assassination attempt reinforced to her the importance of not taking anything for granted.
