Donald Trump has fond memories of Queen Elizabeth II. The late monarch, who died in 2022, met with Trump on a couple of occasions during his first term in the White House. It seems Donald had a lot of admiration for her and what she did while in power.
A new memoir about the Queen will tell her story of how she rose to power and became a beloved figure. The book also discusses the “permanent reminder” Donald has of the Queen.
The President hangs a portrait of the late monarch at Mar-a-Lago

According to Robert Hardman’s novel Elizabeth II, the President has a portrait of her at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Donald reportedly posted that picture after learning of her passing.
Both rulers met on a couple of occasions previously. The first time was in 2018 when Donald had tea with her at Windsor Castle. The following year, Donald returned for a full state visit to Buckingham Palace. He seemed to have plenty of respect for the monarch. “She was so great. I wanted to hang her picture in a room where there is no one else on the wall,” Donald is quoted as saying in the biography per People. In addition, the President apparently had a moment of self-reflection thanks to the Queen. A new book by journalist Susan Page suggests that the President was “dazzled” by the Queen.
By all accounts, Elizabeth didn’t feel the same way towards him. The Queen apparently saw Donald as rather rude. Reports indicate she didn’t particularly care for the President.
Later this month, Donald will meet Elizabeth’s son, King Charles, who is scheduled to visit the United States. Queen Camilla will be along with broader diplomatic engagements expected between the two nations during the meeting. Donald and Melania met the King and Queen last year. The new novel Elizabeth II comes out on April 21.
