Gavin Newsom took a jab at White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller. He questioned Miller’s whereabouts. Newsom wondered whether Miller was hiding out to avoid becoming the next target in Donald Trump’s recent political removals. His comments came following the departures of Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi from their positions. While mocking him, Newsom also compared Miller to a character from the Harry Potter franchise.
Gavin Newsom makes fun of Stephen Miller for lack of public appearances
Newsom took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a billboard image of Miller, with a tagline stating he is missing and a phone number for contact. Comparing him to the main antagonist of the Harry Potter franchise, he wrote, “WHY HAS VOLDEMORT BEEN HIDING?” Newsom then questioned, “DID TRUMP PUT HIM IN A TIMEOUT FOR BAD BEHAVIOR?” This tweet comes in light of the removal of Bondi and Noem from their respective positions in Trump’s cabinet and their subsequent moves into new roles.
Trump didn’t specify a reason for ousting Bondi. However, he claimed in a Truth Social post that she’ll be transitioning to a new role in the private sector. He revealed that the role would be announced at a later date. This news also comes less than two months after Bondi faced heated questioning from lawmakers during congressional hearings.
Moreover, Noem, who was involved in controversies, including her alleged use of taxpayers’ money for ad campaigns and her harsh reaction to the Minneapolis situation, was also fired from her position as Secretary of Homeland Security. She’s now appointed as special envoy for the Shield of the Americas.
This isn’t the first time Newsom has compared Miller to Voldemort. Last year, he shared an image of the Harry Potter antagonist with a one-liner caption that read, “A live look at Stephen Miller seeing a chance to rip families apart, arrest women, and deport children.”
