An extra on The Boys recently delved into Homelander actor Antony Starr’s terrifying response to an on-set blunder. They recalled how serious Starr appeared during the incident, describing it as the “scariest s***” he has ever witnessed.
Antony Starr’s Homelander reaction on The Boys set
On April 8, a X (formerly Twitter) user called Joe (handle @hackermanjoe) shared a screenshot from The Boys Season 5’s second episode, titled “Teenage Kix,” where he appeared as an extra. After the episode aired, he reposted the image and shared an off-screen mishap and how Antony Starr, who portrays Homelander, responded to it.
“Can finally share this story,” Joe began his post. He explained that while filming a pivotal scene, someone’s phone in the background went off. In response, the artist claimed that Starr, in “full character as Homelander, stood up and looked at the crowd to very sternly say ‘turn off your fucking phone.’” He added that it was the “scariest s***” he has seen in his life.
Joe later replied to the post, writing, “Should also add, very baller move. Everyone in the room was applauding afterwards.”
Other users have found the incident fascinating. One user hoped that it will be included in the show’s blooper reel, commenting, “God, please be in the blooper reel.”
A second user said, “You got to experience a life-changing moment. I wish I was you.”
A third user joked, “Did he laugh after or just laser the guy in half?” referring to an old scene from the show.
A fourth user said, “That’s straight up terrifying and hilarious at the same time, Homelander energy on 100.”
The Boys recently began streaming its fifth and final season on Amazon Prime Video, with two episodes, earlier this month. Similar to the previous seasons, the ongoing installment will comprise eight episodes. The next episode will air on April 15, 2026.
