Nancy Guthrie Case Hits Roadblock as ‘No One Can Come Forward Without Incriminating Themselves’ — Podcast

It’s been over two months since Nancy Guthrie was seemingly abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona. What’s more, despite a huge reward for information, there don’t seem to be any promising leads. A new theory has been put forward to explain why no witnesses have come forward. So what do the experts think?

A true crime host is sharing their theory

Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of Today host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since 1 February. Now, a true crime podcaster has offered a new possible reason why the trace seems to have gone cold, despite a hefty $1.2 million reward and several ransom notes.

In a recent episode of “The Interview Room,” Josh Diaz said: “I think that it’s more than one person involved in this, and I think the reason that nobody’s come forward … And I think that, you know, two to three [suspects]—is that they can’t do that without incriminating themselves.”

He added: “They have to say everything they’ve done, everything that they know. I don’t think it would be that easy for somebody to turn on their co-conspirator. I think whoever is involved in this is kind of ride or die together now.”

Former Pima County sheriff Kurt Dabb supported the idea that there are multiple suspects. He said: “I believe there are anywhere between two to four accomplices. The logistics of something of this magnitude is too much for one person to handle, in my professional opinion, based on the facts as I know them right now.”

However, not all of the guests agreed. Former FBI Special Agent Maureen O’Connell suggested that if there was more than one person involved, “someone would have gone for the money” and snitched on their accomplices by now.
