SZA recently addressed the rumors about being Justin Bieber’s backup at Coachella 2026 by replying to an Instagram post. As per the post’s caption, “SZA was reportedly paid six figures to keep her schedule open for both weekends — just in case Justin Bieber had to drop out at the last minute.”
But the “Kill Bill” singer made things clear by commenting, “Lmao who made this up?” The singer-songwriter further added that she has seen the rumors four times now. She wrote, “I’m in New York no one paid me a dime. Wishing everyone the best.”
Bieber performed on the festival’s opening weekend, gaining mixed reactions from his fans. He is scheduled to return for a second headline appearance, following the release of his albums “SWAG” and “SWAG II.” According to Page Six, the “Baby” singer reportedly received a $10 million payout for his headlining set.
A source previously claimed that with this performance, Bieber has “something to prove,” adding that “Coachella will be a real indicator of how he moves forward. There’s a lot riding on this, no doubt.” The insider even indicated that his Coachella performance is a “launch for a potential comeback tour,” and it’s not a “one-and-done situation.”
Nevertheless, many renowned stars were eager to watch Bieber play on stage at the festival. Even Kylie Jenner flew to Coachella with a group of her friends to see the singer. Katy Perry and her boyfriend Justin Trudeau were also seen vibing during his performance, along with many other fans.
