The Boys star Karl Urban wants to play this Red Dead Redemption character
The Boys’ Karl Urban is reportedly running for the lead role in the Red Dead Redemption adaptation. The talented actor is eyeing the character of John Marston, the complex and brooding outlaw with a conscience. In a recent interview with Square Mile, Urban discussed his recent roles, including his part in The Boys. He is also gearing up for the upcoming Mortal Kombat sequel.
When asked about gaming adaptations he would like to be a part of, Urban revealed a strong interest in Red Dead Redemption game. “Red Dead Redemption is one of my favourites. Red Dead is a fantastic game. It’s interesting because I didn’t really have too much of an opportunity to get that heavily invested in the gaming culture. Although I absolutely enjoy the opportunity to indulge in that kind of escapism, when gaming consoles came out in 1994, I was an unemployed actor living in Sydney. I couldn’t afford those consoles,” Urban shared.
“By the time I could, I was so busy working on various projects around the world that I was never able to get into it. From time to time, when I did get the rare opportunity, Red Dead was certainly one of the games that spoke to me. I mean, come on, John Marston! I’d love to play that character,” he enthusiastically added.
With a resume boasting iconic roles, including Éomer in The Lord of the Rings and Billy Butcher in The Boys, Urban has made a name for himself in adaptations, making him a suitable option for Red Dead Redemption game.
