Tom Brady Mocks Ryan Reynolds & Rob Mac After Birmingham vs. Wrexham

Tom Brady takes a swipe at Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac short for Rob McElhenney, after the Birmingham vs. Wrexham match. For those unversed, Brady is a minority owner of Birmingham. They are aiming to rise up the ranks and move up the divisions just like Wrexham AFC. Notably, Birmingham secured a 2-0 victory in the Championship on Sunday.

Tom Brady pokes fun at Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac after Wrexham’s loss

Tom Brady takes a playful jab at Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney after Wrexham’s loss. He stated on his Instagram stories, “Big W. It’s always more fun to beat your friends.” He tagged Reynolds and Mac on his Instagram stories. This comes after Birmingham beat Wrexham in the Championship game on Sunday (via ESPN).

Both teams graduated from EFL League One to the Championship last season but are competing at different ends of England’s second tier this year. However, Carlos Vicente and captain Christoph Klarer’s exceptional performance almost killed Wrexham’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs. Wrexham is now in the seventh spot, four points behind Hull City A.F.C. at the sixth spot. The chances of them qualifying for the playoffs are slim.

Notably, Brady became a minority owner of Birmingham in August 2023, two years after Reynolds and co-owner Mac took over Wrexham’s ownership. Previously, Reynolds and co-owner Mac took on Brady in the new Welcome to Wrexham season 4 trailer. The docu-series details the Welsh football team’s struggles and how it is battling against all odds to regain fans’ support.

Reynolds remarked at the beginning of the trailer, “He’s (Brady) not playing, thank God.” The Deadpool star pauses to ask, “Is he allowed to play?” Sometime in the video, Brady tells reporters, “It’s a friendly competition… Well, not so friendly.”

Brady also interacts with co-owner McElhenney as they watch a clip of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia featuring Mac. In the clip, Mac declares to Dee (Kaitlin Olson) to break Brady’s arm. The NFL legend simply smiles and asks, “What’s wrong with you?”, showcasing their wholesome friendship (via NME).
