The recent episode of The Boys season 5 saw Homelander getting a prophetic vision about him becoming an immortal god. However, this came after the real-life event, where President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated photo of himself as a Jesus-like figure. Creator Eric Kripke spoke about this uncanny event in a new interview.

Eric Kripke seems to have an uncanny ability to depict real events before they actually happen. Previously, in the season 4 finale of The Boys, there was an attempt on the President’s life. The episode incidentally aired two weeks after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. This even raised the prospect of the episode getting pulled off the air.
Now, once again, an episode of The Boys, shot long ago, seems to directly depict an event that just happened.
President Donald Trump, in the middle of his beef with the Pope, posted an AI-generated photo of himself resembling Jesus. Homelander also had a similar vision in the latest episode of the show, where he decided he could be an immortal god.
Speaking to Polygon, Kripke said about this, “I am really tired and weary of the world reflecting the show before we get a chance to do it.” He continued, “I appreciate the marketing. I’m just like, can you just please give us a chance to put some absurd satire out there before you prove that it’s more realistic than we ever intended?”
Kripke said he was confident that this was a plot twist that the real world would not replicate. “This is the episode where Homelander decides he’s going to be God and 48 hours before it, Trump releases an image of himself as God,” the creator said, “A month ago when we were talking about marketing, I was like, Homelander saying he’s God is so out there. We have to be careful about how we even introduce the idea to the public because they’ll say he’s gone too far, and here we are. It’s just really hard to out-satire this world.”
