Natasha Lyonne Jokes About Alleged Plane Drama: ‘Kooky Times’

It’s been more than a week since Natasha Lyonne made headlines after being removed from a flight. But it seems the actor isn’t ready to put the drama behind her just yet. Appearing on a recent red carpet, the Poker Face lead made light of the situation, calling it a “performance art piece.”

To recap, earlier this month, Natasha was escorted off a flight from Los Angeles to New York just hours after the Euphoria Season 3 premiere. She was described as being “out of it” on the plane. And onlookers claimed the actor was asked if she needed “medical attention” by airline staff.

Shortly afterwards, Natasha acknowledged that the incident caused her to miss her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. That said, she thanked airline staff nonetheless.

In another post on socials, Natasha blamed Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the ordeal – although the Department of Homeland Security later denied having anything to do with it – and also apologized to anyone impacted by her removal from the flight.

Now, Natasha has spoken out about the incident yet again. Chatting to Page Six on Wednesday at a gala, she joked about the ordeal. After being asked about her sobriety (more on that in a moment), she said: “Oh, you mean my … performance art piece?”

Natasha then explained she’s been on three flights since the mishap. “I do seem to show up on time, hit those marks, despite it all,” she said of her ability to travel. “But yeah, it’s a kooky moment, kooky times.” Make of that what you will.

As mentioned, Natasha has always been open about her ongoing sobriety struggles. In January of this year, she revealed that she’d relapsed after nearly a decade of sobriety. However, just months later, she reassured fans via social media that she was “doing a whole lot better.”
