Donald Trump Passed an Executive Order With Joe Rogan by His Side

Despite disagreeing with Donald Trump’s recent policies about the Iran war, Joe Rogan extended his support to the president as the latter recently signed an executive order at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. The fan-favorite podcaster not only encouraged Trump in spirit to approve the order dealing with the usage of psychedelic drugs, but also played an active role in bringing the matter to the president’s attention.

On Saturday, April 18, Trump issued an executive order to relieve restrictions on medical research and treatments using psychedelic drugs, with his long-term advocate Joe Rogan by his side.

After signing the decree, Trump credited Rogan for bringing about the change. “I got a call from a number of people, including the great Joe Rogan, and he said, ‘We have to do something about this.’ And I looked into it,” the Republican president confirmed, as per MS Now.

The order in question instructs the Food and Drug Administration to help conduct clinical trials for psychedelics in a speedy and effective manner, all the while overseeing a smooth and swift approval process of such drugs. At the signing, Trump claimed that experimental treatments with psychedelics so far “have shown life-changing potential for those suffering from severe mental illness and depression.”

“If these turn out to be as good as people are saying, it’s going to have a tremendous impact,” he added.

Meanwhile, Joe Rogan revealed that he was able to discuss the topic of psychedelics with Donald Trump after having in-depth conversations with W. Bryan Hubbard, the CEO of the nonprofit Americans for Ibogaine, and Energy Secretary Rick Perry.

“They told me how impactful this medicine is this, and having that conversation with them, millions of people got a chance to hear their story, hear the stories of all the different people that have had life-changing experiences from it,” Rogan noted.
