The actions of the former Prince Andrew and the Royal Family has made one British-born comedian less than impressed. John Oliver weighed in on the disgraced royal who lost all his titles last year because of his affiliation with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The host of Last Week Tonight was recently asked where he thinks Andrew might end up when he dies. “If I believed in hell, it would be there,” said the British comedian.
The comedian thinks the Royal Family’s “behavior” is a concern
Andrew might have a lot to pay for in the afterlife. While John shared that notion, he added that he doesn’t believe anyone with ties to Jeffrey on earth will face any severe consequences. John doesn’t have much fondness towards the royal family, telling Page Six, “I think that the way they’ve behaved over the years has been horrendous.”
While he says that he enjoyed seeing Andrew embarrassed on his birthday, John doubts there will be true “accountability” for Jeffrey’s victims, like Virginia Giuffre. He was arrested on his birthday for alleged misconduct in public office. Virginia, who killed herself last year, alleged that she was trafficked to Andrew when she was a minor.
Reports suggest the idea of potentially spending an eternity in hell is one Andrew might be afraid of. In March, an insider said the former royal is “turning to god.” Many people close to him have, by all accounts, been distant or ignored him. That includes his brother King Charles, who evicted him from the Royal Lodge along with his two daughters.
John was also asked about Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. He said that he couldn’t care less where she or Andrew end up when their lives end. Sarah had her latest children’s book pulled from publication when her involvement with Jeffrey came to light.
