Livvy Dunne is embracing a new phase in her career. The former elite gymnast is currently filming Baywatch, and she says the experience has been equal parts exciting and eye-opening. Speaking about the transition, Dunne describes it as a moment she’s still processing. “It’s been a blast. I love it,” she said, calling the opportunity a true “pinch-me” experience.
Livvy Dunne talks filming ‘Baywatch’ and bonding with her co-stars
After years of competing at the highest level in gymnastics, Dunne admits acting brings a completely different set of demands. While it may not require the same physical intensity, it challenges her in new ways. “It’s very different from athletics,” she explained. “I wouldn’t say it’s as physically demanding as being a gymnast, but it’s a different kind of challenge.”
Instead of training routines and competitions, her focus now includes memorizing lines, staying sharp on set, and managing long travel schedules. Showing up ready to perform, even while dealing with jet lag, has become part of the job. “It’s been so much fun.”
One of the standout aspects of the experience, Dunne says, has been the connections she’s built with her co-stars, including Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader, and Hassie Harrison. “The cast is amazing. We’ve all become really close,” she shared, adding that those off-screen friendships have made a noticeable difference in front of the camera. “Being able to stand there and watch Shay Mitchell and be in a scene with her and learn from her — it’s been phenomenal.”
While filming has been a major focus, Dunne says she values the downtime just as much. For her, it’s about staying grounded and making space for real-life connections beyond the set. “Logging off, grabbing a drink with a friend, saying yes to plans — that’s where memories are made,” she said. Dunne also spoke about her collaboration with Miller Lite, noting that the brand has been part of her life even before the partnership became official.
