Seth Meyers Blames Donald Trump’s ‘Oatmeal Brain’ for Iran War

Late Night talk show host Seth Meyers returned to the screen after a three-week break, and immediately delved into the chaotic state of the US’s war with Iran, blaming President Donald Trump’s “Oatmeal Brain” for the state. He also expressed his frustration over the Strait of Hormuz.

Seth Meyers calls out Donald Trump over Iran war state

Seth Meyers returned to the television screen after three weeks, but things had changed little on the political front, with the ceasefire with Iran nearing an end and no real solution still in sight. “We’re now into week eight of the war with Iran,” Meyers began on his show (via The Daily Beast), “And we are still at the mercy of an oatmeal-brained 79-year-old megalomaniac who, based on his blue hand, has a slow-moving case of Violet Beauregarde Disease.”

He went on to show a picture of Donald Trump’s bruised hands next to an image of Roald Dahl’s character from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. “Is that how this ends? He doesn’t get impeached. He just blows up like a giant balloon and gets rolled away by the Oompa Loompas?”

With the ceasefire ending on Wednesday, Meyers further expressed his concerns about the uncertainty surrounding the future. “No one seems to know what’s going on or what’s going to happen next,” the host said.

“By the time this airs, the Strait of Hormuz could be open, it could be closed. At this point, the Strait of Hormuz has more confusing hours than one of those pop-up restaurants that sell weird new foods for influencers to take pictures of…” the host said.

Doubling down on the uncertainty, Meyers said, “In any 24-hour period, anything is possible. We could have ground troops in Iran. We could have a peace deal.” He added, “We could have U.S. Navy destroyers firing on Iranian gunboats, or Trump could be best friends with the Ayatollah. They could be trading insults on social media, or they could open a new neighborhood bar called Aya-Told-Ya-So!”

He also added that this was the reason “the Constitution gives Congress, and only Congress, the power to declare war.” Vice President JD Vance will reportedly lead the talks with Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Tuesday.
