There was no love lost between Joe Rogan and Donald Trump during the podcaster’s recent visit to the Oval Office, as revealed by him. Despite having slammed the President in recent times for his aggressive approach towards Iran, Rogan continues to remain in Trump’s good books, with the latter playfully describing him as “very liberal.”
Joe Rogan reveals what Donald Trump called him
Recently, on The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC color commentator debunked rumors suggesting a rift between him and the POTUS.
Referring to their interaction during his latest trip to the White House on the April 21 episode, Joe Rogan noted, “He joked about it. He called me a liberal during the whole thing.” He then reenacted what Donald Trump said to him in the President’s voice, stating, “He’s very liberal.”
Notably, Rogan visited the Oval Office on April 18 to accompany Trump as he signed an executive order expand medical research and treatments using psychedelic drugs. At the event, the veteran Republican politician revealed that Rogan was one of many people who had advised him to “do something about” the use of such drugs in the country.
“We all respect Joe,” Donald Trump said at the signing supposedly in response to Joe Rogan’s recent criticism of him. “He’s a little bit more liberal than I am. That’s OK. I have a lot of friends that are liberal, but Joe is an amazing guy” (via Fox News)
Irrespective of their banter, Trump and Rogan continue to remain close associates of one another. In the Tuesday episode of his podcast, which featured Luis J. Gomez as the guest, the titular host detailed another encounter with Trump to squash all theories about their supposed beef.
“Literally, he sees me at the UFC the next day, shakes my hand, and says it’s done. That’s what he was saying. I said, ‘Thank you, sir.’ It wasn’t like he was mad at me at all. It was the opposite,” narrated Rogan.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has yet to publicly comment on Joe Rogan’s recent criticism of him.
