Body language expert Judi James evaluated the interaction between Melania Trump and Usha Vance during the 113th Annual First Lady’s Luncheon on Thursday. She revealed that Vance ended her part of the speech and later introduced Trump, who arrived and didn’t seem to recognize or warmly greet her. However, she cites that Trump’s cold behavior could be because she has recently been channeling her strong businesswoman side.
Melania Trump’s behaviour towards Usha Vance decoded by expert
James recently deduced that Trump’s behavior towards Vance at the luncheon event didn’t appear to be warm or affectionate but rather cold. Both ladies addressed the topics surrounding policies’ effect on youth and children during the event. Vance went first to present her remarks before calling in the first lady with a very strong introduction. She stated her various achievements as a political figure, businesswoman, author, and producer, but when Trump took the center stage, she barely acknowledged her.
James stated that once Trump was on stage, Vance helped her turn the notes for her, and she only hit her with a thank you, with no signs of a warm greeting between the two. She said, “There is no greeting ritual between the two women when you might have expected a hug or even a brief touch plus some warm eye contact of acknowledgment.”
Decoding their behavior and body language, James further explained, “Instead, as Usha stands close to her, turned inward to smile at her, Melania faces the room, rotating her eye contact and smile around her audience.” However, she believes that such behavior from Melania could have stemmed from her leaning into her businesswoman element more than into being the First Lady.
She claimed that her body language could be “pre-arranged” to make her appear as “serious heavyweights with some powerful message” rather than to make her present as a traditional first lady with tactile affection and empathetic traits.
