This decision comes after she posted another story accusing Thompson of cheating, without mentioning his name. Their romance reportedly began in summer 2025, with Megan subtly going Instagram official with him as she posted a bikini photo with him in the background initially.

Megan Thee Stallion released a statement to announce that she is breaking up with Klay Thompson. She considers trust, fidelity, and respect important parts of the relationship, but believes that when they are compromised, there is nothing to look forward to. Reflecting on what she will do next, she elaborated, “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity” (via PEOPLE).
Ahead of announcing her final decision on her relationship status, Megan uploaded another Instagram Story, which was seemingly aimed at Thompson. She wrote, “I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity. Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????'” She also suggested that she’s taking a “REAL break,” followed by her writing “bye.”
Megan and Thompson have reportedly been dating since last year, initially dropping subtle hints at their bond on social media. However, they made their pairing official, arriving together at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City.
She referred to Thompson as a “kind” person before showering him with additional praises. “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy. I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me,” she elaborated to Page Six.
