Pete Hegseth Faces Protesters Shouting for His Arrest at White House Dinner

The relatively peaceful occasion of the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner unexpectedly turned into a protest demonstration when two dissenters crashed the Washington Hilton, demanding the arrest of US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. The protestors opposed the federal official’s exploits in the Iran war, all the while listing a host of supposed offenses against Hegseth during their outcry.

Pete Hegseth faces arrest chants at White House dinner

Pete Hegseth faced a lot of heat on April 25, during the WHCA dinner, when two unidentified protestors showed up at the event, calling for his incarceration.

The two men in question not only chanted, “Arrest Pete Hegseth for war crimes! Arrest Pete Hegseth for war crimes!” but also provided reasons for their demands. They exclaimed that the 45-year-old official should be reprimanded for “threatening genocide, arresting Nicolás Maduro, overseeing strikes that targeted more than 180 people on boats in the Caribbean, [and] for actively planning a war…with illegitimate justification,” as per the clip posted by the X account Shadow of Ezra.

While one objector donned a suit and held a protesting placard, his accomplice arrived in a black-and-white striped prison uniform as he raised his handcuffed hands above his head. The second protester even hid his face behind a Pete Hegseth mask to hit the point home.

The demonstration of Pete Hegseth’s arrest comes in the wake of faltering peace talks with Iran, as well as the ousting of multiple Pentagon officials. Notably, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George recently resigned after facing pressure, according to The Mirror. Other recently fired officials include Navy Secretary John C. Phelan and the Army leadership overseeing the Transportation and Training Command and the Chaplain Corps.

In addition to the protestors’ demands, House Democrats have filed articles of impeachment against the Secretary of War, citing several reasons for their action.
