Aimee Lou Wood jokes about her teeth controversy on “SNL UK“. Wood is known for her large buck teeth, which have now become a part of her identity as an actress. Interestingly, previously, she slammed “SNL U.S.” for a “mean and unfunny” sketch making fun of her teeth. Now, it seems like the actress has made peace with it. Not only that, she has joined in on the fun and is making light of the situation.
Aimee Lou Wood addresses teeth controversy in SNL UK
Aimee Lou Wood makes fun of her teeth in a new promo for “SNL UK”. The “White Lotus” star is all set to host the British spinoff of “SNL” this weekend. In a promo released on April 28, the 32-year-old takes a swipe at her buck teeth.
In the skit, the other cast members cover their mouths with their palms as they wait for Wood to join them. The “Sex Education” star arrives excitedly and remarks, “I cannot wait to get started — you know, especially after the whole thing in America with the teeth. So it’s going to feel good to just wipe the slate clean.”
She suddenly realizes that they have covered their mouths and asks, “Why are you all covering your mouths?” They reply in unison, “Just a big yawn.” Still not convinced, Wood questions, “Have you guys got fake teeth in?” They deny it.
Wood spits out sarcastically, “So this is all just a big set up to humiliate me? I thought SNL UK would be different but I was wrong.” Then, the crew calls out to her and declares that they have all grown moustaches and are sorry to make Wood feel left out.
“No, I’m sorry, and it’s up to me to earn that moustache now,” Wood says. “Aimee Lou Wood, you earned that thing as soon as you walked in there,” replies one of the crew members as he rips off his fake moustache and puts it on Wood’s upper lip. The crew members extend their arms towards Wood, who joins them for a group hug.
Wood will be hosting the Saturday, May 2 episode of “SNL UK”, which will air on SKY.
