Many people living in Tucson, Arizona, remain tight-lipped about the Nancy Guthrie case. The mother of three has been missing since February 1, with her disappearance dominating the national news in the US for months.
Given the suspicious nature of this mystery and the fame of her daughter, Savannah, it’s perhaps no surprise this case continues to get attention. What is surprising is how quiet those who live near Nancy have been. Those in the area who know her well have declined to speak publicly. A news correspondent is investigating the reason behind this.
Savannah Guthrie’s mother remains missing

Friends of Nancy could be honoring her family’s wishes. That’s the theory being News Nation’s Brian Entin believes in. He says that he’s hearing that many of Nancy’s loved ones want her friends to be quiet about this case. Speaking to Parade, Brian adds that he believes “people are just still nervous about the whole thing,” which, for him, explains another reason why none of Nancy’s friends are talking.
While many who know the 84-year-old aren’t talking, Savannah has spoken up many times since her disappearance. In March, the Today Show co-host gave a candid interview about Nancy’s alleged kidnapping. It reportedly took place in the dead of night when she was in a deep sleep.
The case has been ongoing for over three months with no suspects apprehended yet. On April 29, a masked man was caught on camera near Nancy’s home stealing a potted cactus. Police haven’t said if this may be someone connected to Nancy’s disappearance. The person was wearing gloves and a baseball cap.
Nancy is reportedly without her heart medication, with many losing hope that someone will find her. Her daughter, Savannah, returned to the anchor desk at the Today Show after a lengthy absence.
