Fox News Makes Awkward First Lady Mix Up During Donald Trump China Trip

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade recently made a shocking on-air mix up involving First Lady Melania Trump. This comes amid President Donald Trump’s visit to China. Moreover, Melania is not part of the convoy that traveled with the President to China.

Brian Kilmeade makes huge Melania Trump blunder on air

Brian Kilmeade of Fox News recently made a huge mistake on-air as he confused First Lady Melania Trump with Lara Trump.

It happened during the Fox & Friends segment covering Donald Trump’s visit to China. On the show, hosts Kilmeade, Lawrence Jones, and Ainsley Earhardt were looking at live footage of Trump, his son Eric Trump, and his wife, Lara, descending the stairs of Air Force One as it landed in China.

According to a report by the Daily Beast, Kilmeade mistook Lara for Melania and said, “As the first lady comes down the stairs to greet the president or join the president.” He was immediately cut off by Earhardt, who added that it was Lara, after which a moment of silence engulfed the studio.

Kilmeade also tried to rectify his mistake and added, “Probably interesting for her. Should have been the first lady.” After a long pause, the hosts came back on-air, and Kilmeade stated, “So you see a little bit of camera work there. But as they chant, I assume it’s a compliment. If anyone knows Chinese and could tell us what they’re chanting, but it seems to be positive. The president seems to like it. Gave a fist pump there as he walked off.”

The on-air gaffe became a topic of discussion on social media, with many users sharing their opinions. The reason Melania Trump missed the trip to China with Trump is unknown. A spokesperson from her office had conveyed, “First Lady Melania Trump is not traveling this time.”
