Stephen Colletti of Laguna Beach fame is now a dad. He welcomed his first baby with wife Alex Weaver on Thursday, May 14.
The couple dated for two years before tying the knot in October of last year. They announced their baby was on the way in January.
The reality TV star is officially a dad
Stephen and Alex, a NASCAR reporter and host, announced the arrival of their son, Rhodes August Colletti, on a May 14 Instagram post. The announcement included a black and white photo of the baby holding his mom’s finger, with the parents holding hands. The simple caption included only their son’s name with a heart emoji.
Cast members from Laguna Beach and Stephen’s other former series, One Tree Hill, sent their congratulations via social media
One Tree Hill co-star James Lafferty sent his well wishes, writing, “That’s one lucky little human. Congratulations you two. Best news ever ❤️❤️❤️.” Stephen is currently working on Hulu’s Everyone Is Doing Great with James, who is co-creator and co-star.
Before his son’s arrival, Stephen noted he was seeking the advice of James, who also is a new dad. He and Alexandra welcomed their son, River, in December of last year.
“I have been leaning on him,” Stephen told Us Weekly. “I’ve been watching him forge the path of fatherhood, and I’ve been so impressed with what he and [his wife] Alex together have been doing. It’s just so cool to see your best friends go through that journey and to be right behind them and getting excited here for my wife and I.”
Alexandra Park, James’ wife and part of the new show with her husband, wrote, “The world is so ready for you, Rhodes August !!! Love you 3.”
Other One Tree Hill stars who sent congratulations to the new parents include Robbie Jones, Ashley Rickards, Kate Voegele and Bryan Greenberg.
Stephen’s Laguna Beach co-star and high school friend Dieter Schmitz, wrote on Instagram, “Congrats you two!!!!!! Can’t wait to meet little Rhodes!!!!”
Ashley Wahler, wife of Stephen’s Laguna Beach co-star Jason Wahler, wrote, “Congratulations! LOVE the middle name ❤️.”
