According to Rob Shuter, Kate Hudson is mad at Sheryl Crow’s statements about Lance Armstrong seeing an actress. The “Almost Famous” actress is facing speculations about her being the “famous actress” Armstrong was dating when Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer. Insiders close to Hudson say the accusations don’t make sense because the timeline doesn’t match.

Hudson and the road-racing cyclist reportedly began dating in May 2008, over three years after Crow and Armstrong’s separation. “Kate is beyond frustrated as people instantly assumed it was her,” a source told the Naughty But Nice. They added, “She had absolutely nothing to do with the breakup between Sheryl and Lance. None.” The insider continued, “The facts are very clear, but once social media locks onto a storyline, people stop caring about timelines.”

The Oscar-nominated actress allegedly “feels dragged into someone else’s heartbreak for no reason.” Friends also reportedly said that Hudson won’t respond to the rumors because it will only add fuel to the fire. “She thinks it’s absurd,” another source stated. They explained, “But she also understands people love turning women into villains in messy celebrity love stories.”

According to insiders, Hudson has expressed disdain at being labeled the “default actress” whenever Armstrong’s dating history is discussed. The source concluded, “Kate wants one thing made crystal clear. She was not the woman Sheryl was talking about.”

Talking about Crow’s statements, she recalled her breakup at Netflix’s The Bobbycast. “I was engaged, I had three beautiful stepchildren, I wanted to have kids with this person,” the “Strong Enough” hitmaker said. She continued, “We split in the same week I got diagnosed with breast cancer, and I found out he was seeing a really famous actress.”
