New details have emerged regarding Tom Hardy‘s exit from MobLand‘s third season. A source told a media outlet that the 48-year-old Peaky Blinders star “kept the cast waiting, which is a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”
New details have emerged on Tom Hardy’s alleged rough go on the MobLand set
Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that Tom Hardy had been fired following a dispute with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others. The Oscar-nominated actor played Harry Da Souza on MobLand, a fixer for a powerful organized crime family.
Multiple outlets reported that Hardy’s behavior made producer Butterworth nearly quit. That in turn led to the 48-year-old actor being fired from the Paramount+ series
Puck‘s Matthew Belloni‘s newsletter mentioned a significant conflict stemming from the actor’s behavior. It read, “Hardy was apparently late to set a bunch, constantly asked to give notes on scripts, attempted to change dialogue, and expressed his displeasure that a series initially built around him was increasingly becoming an ensemble showcase for Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and other co-stars.”
Now, a source revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, “He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time. He kept the cast waiting, which is a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”
Another source told Daily Mail, ‘Tom’s character is charming. He’s the calm one, but it is quite the opposite when the cameras stop. Dame Helen is a joy; she is a total pro, and she has worked with so many people over the years. But she is getting increasingly frustrated with Tom and his attitude. He can be late to filming, too, and that is annoying for Dame Helen, who is extremely professional and disciplined. His tone is something Dame Helen doesn’t like, along with his lateness.”
The source further stated, “She expects better. She holds people to a high standard. She’s 80. She’s been there and seen it all. The behind-the-scenes crew watches it all and believes that she no longer looks as happy working on scenes with him. It has all become quite personal between them.”
