There was a lot of chaos at the home of a Pro Bowl running back this past weekend. A 911 call was placed from the home of Josh Jacobs, where an alleged violent attack took place. The reports being shared by a dispatcher are very disturbing to hear.
Newly released audio shows that officials got two calls about the incident, one from the scene and another from a neighbor next door. By the time police got there, the Green Bay Packers star was gone.
Dispatch told police she could hear “yelling and screaming”
More details are trickling in about what allegedly transpired at Josh’s home. News outlet TMJ 4 obtained audio from a dispatcher describing what was reported to police. One call has dispatch saying there is “yelling and screaming on an open line.” The dispatcher also told police, “Things being thrown,” and added that it may be “a male and female” involved.
While Josh was absent when cops arrived, his Mercedes G-Wagon was being tracked with license plate reader cameras. The alleged incident happened on Saturday, though Josh wasn’t apprehended until Tuesday. He was booked into the Brown County Jail on five charges, including battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
After spending Tuesday behind bars, Josh was released the following day. Those charges might not stick in the end. Prosecutors in the county reportedly want more time to look into this matter before deciding on that. In light of this incident, the Packers cancelled today’s media availability. The team is currently going through Organized Team Activities (OTA’s) ahead of next season.
Josh is among the many NFL players, past and present, involved in alleged frightening incidents. Former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was fired by Fox in November. This came after he had an altercation with someone before being slated to call a game in Indianapolis.
