Gossip columnist Rob Shutter has claimed in his Substack article that ex-boyfriend A-Rod has reached out to Jennifer Lopez after his recent split from Jaclyn Cordeiro.
Insiders say that he never fully got over their relationship and “once he became single again, reaching out felt inevitable.”

Lopez and Rodriguez dated from 2007 to 2021, in what is believed to be one of entertainment’s high-profile romances. Often nicknamed “J-Rod”, the couple were engaged in March 2019, after a spectacular proposal that brought together both families – JLo’s twins Max and Emme, with Marc Anthony and A-Rod’s daughters, Natasha and Ella, from a previous marriage.
However, the couple split amid cheating rumors and pressures around their highly-publicized relationship. Reportedly, A-Rod is looking to reconnect and form some sort of relationship with JLo as “he absolutely misses her presence in his life. There’s still a tremendous amount of affection there.”
A-Rod’s latest attempt to reconnect with his ex comes at a time when JLo is still recovering from her split with Ben Affleck. So the chances that this reunion goes into romantic territory seem slim at the moment.
“Jennifer is in a much more guarded and emotionally centered place these days,” an insider explains. “She’s open to peace, not chaos. But she hasn’t shut the door completely either.”
From Alex’s point of view, the reconnection may have been triggered by nostalgia or a healthy PR story where he switched back to Lopez rather than trying to catch the attention of newer, younger partners in the Hollywood circle.
“Alex knows he probably won’t get another person like Jennifer,” another source adds. “That’s why he reached out.”
Despite their very public breakup, the couple spent several happy moments together and were highly praised for their attempts to blend their families seamlessly. In a cute highlight from their relationship, the couple appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020 and bantered playfully, with A-Rod declaring that Lopez was “the love of my life.”
