Chris Hemsworth recently shared the one parenting mistake he made before a family trip that nearly ruined it. The Marvel star shares three children, daughter India Rose, 14, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 12, with wife Elsa Pataky. The couple sat down for an interview where they answered some vacation-related questions.
Chris Hemsworth relives airport experience that is every dad’s worst nightmare while flying with kids
Chris Hemsworth has already lived every father’s worst nightmare while flying with kids. He and his wife spoke to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia in an interview posted on June 3. The couple answered some rapid-fire questions about vacations. When asked who was most likely to forget their passports, they both pointed at each other, before Hemsworth admitted that he had actually ended up in that kind of situation once.
“I actually went to the airport once, and I had my daughter’s passport instead of my son’s passport. They kind of look the same,” Hemsworth said. Pataky insisted, “They don’t.” The Thor star told the airport staff, “This is her.” The staff obviously realized the mistake and said, “They were like, ‘That’s a boy.'” At the end, he admitted, “So yeah, that didn’t work. So yeah, probably me.”
In February 2026, while attending the world premiere of Crime 101 at United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, Hemsworth revealed to PEOPLE what his kids think of his acting career. When asked if he is scoring “cool points” with his kids for being a global movie star, he replied, “They don’t care. They don’t care at all.”
He explained that they found it cool when they were younger, but that has changed over the years. “I reckon when they first realized I was Thor, they thought it was really cool,” he said. “And then they realized they couldn’t fly, and they thought it was less cool. Now they’re just like, ‘ah, Dad, whatever.’ Teenagers.”
